Anybody that knows him and has talked to him recently is gonna see it. The people you used to live with - don't you think it's affect them too, with him acting like a total idiot? Maybe they know something more about it.

I'm just not sure I can face them yet. Aang wanted Sokka and I to be friends again, but I don't know.

Did he think it was just gonna happen overnight, or something? [She sounds incredulous - at Aang, not at Suki.] You've got time and you've gotta take it. You don't have to "face" them, because it's not like you did some kinda terrible thing to face them with.

They'll get it. Pretty sure they want you to be happy even if it means you take a break.

I don't know. But now I know I want nothing to do with Sokka... ever. I'm done. I'm done with all of this. Done with giving him chances. Done with trying to make things work. Just done.

Okay. [That works for her. Maybe Suki won't be as stressed and angry and upset, then.] But only if you also promise you'll try not to go around being mad about him even though he's not here. There's better stuff to think about all day.

Spirits. I hope you're right.

I don't know how well I'm going to do though.

[It's not good for her to be like this all the time. So even though she said that as partially a joke...maybe practice wouldn't hurt. Sheena's arm tightens around Suki's shoulders again.]

[Maybe there're other things she can do, but right now she's trying for a smile.]

How about this, though - if I see one of your friends, I'll tell them you're doing okay if they ask. And if, y'know, it's still true.

Yeah. That would be great actually.

I thought this place was going to be so much different.

What'd you think? After somebody explained it to you, anyway.

I knew it was going to be hard, but I thought it was going to be fighting, almost dying, those things. [Aka things she's used to.] I didn't think I lose one of the most important relationships I have.

[Sheena is of the opinion that dying is worse than losing someone you love though they live.]

Things might change. You kinda never know.

I don't know. I don't know if I care anymore.

It'll get better. I promise.

[It isn't like her - anymore - to make promises much, let alone ones she might not be able to see through to a conclusion. This one means a lot.]

I really hope so, Sheena. I really do.

[And the awareness that they're sitting by the front door on the floor creeps back in. Sheena looks around, wondering if Suki even knows where they are.]

Want some tea? Or I think we also have hot chocolate, but it's kinda warm for that.

Tea is fine. I like tea. [And hot chocolate gets too sweet sometimes.]

Well, you only get tea this time if you go sit on the couch instead of the floor.

[She'll help Suki up.]

[A weak smile.]

[Sheena's couch has been through quite a lot in its long life here.]

No going out to take revenge on him while I'm in the kitchen, either, got it?

No promises. [She joked.]

[Joking was good. Even a halfhearted joke.]

Good, 'cause I'd hate it if you left without me.

Note to self: invite Sheena along if I have to beat Sokka up. Got it.

At this point you might just have to race me.

[Then. Kitchen, for tea. Even a little bit of joking from Suki was a good sign at least.]
