122. Circumstances

[To think it was just a regular day.

Sheena stumbles her way around from the back of house 18. One arm is braced against the outside wall of the house, the other useless. It's a slow, staggering kind of walk. When she runs out of house, she manages to move just a few more feet, into the road, before crashing to the ground again. Mercifully, her journal comes loose from where she had carried it at her waist, and ends up open, pages face down.

It's just out of her reach; her fingertips brush against it but she can't turn it over. Maybe having it open is enough]

I-I...need help. ...Please.

[[ooc: Follows almost immediately after this log, meaning it's Thursday up in here. The log is unfinished so far but we wanted to avoid some insane backdating/the chance that LJ murders itself again. So!]]

[Her eyes are already closing again. She may take a cat-nap of sorts, no longer than half an hour or so. Because hearing that Raine wasn't going anywhere was good enough.]

[wise_maiden]

[She'll even hum something softly to help her along, at first.

It just seems appropriate.]

[in her half-sleep, the moments before she's dead to the world again, her arm wraps around that stuffed toy that's been sitting there next to her since Raine showed up.

And she doesn't even mind. Whether it's childish or strange or embarrassing is one of the farthest things from her thoughts.

Then there are no thoughts for another half hour. When she wakes again it's with a quiet start, like she might have heard a noise]

What...?

[At the sounds of Sheena stirring, and then waking, Raine looks over at her--sitting by her side as promised.] Sheena?

[corrinesbell]

Raine? What're you...

[it's as if she forgets, for the moment, some of what just happened. She even tries to sit up further, something which is completely discouraged the moment she gets more than an inch or so off the bed on her own power.

But she's doing better than she was before the nap. And after a minute or two it'll all come back]

You don't have to apologize. It ... seems like you've been through quite an ordeal.

I didn't wanna fight.

[wise_maiden]

It doesn't look like the other person gave you much of a choice.

[corrinesbell]

['the other person.' So she'd imagined telling her things about it, then?]

Raine, it... [looking at her now with as much focus as she can] Promise you won't do anything...ridiculous.

[wise_maiden]

[She just raises an eyebrow at that phrasing. It's not as if she hasn't already compiled a small list of guesses.] What happened?

[corrinesbell]

[that is not a promise. But she has a feeling that's the best she's going to get.]

I was...I was planting seeds and Mithos attacked me. ...Thunder Blade, I think.

[and really that would have been trauma enough.]

[wise_maiden]

... Mithos. [She knew it would only have been a matter of time before he began his attacking. Especially after their last conversation. And surely by now, her warning to the village had long been dismissed without the boy doing anything else.

And Thunder blade, of all things, on Sheena.] I'm sorry. How are you feeling now?

[corrinesbell]

Just...just tired.

[the spell was such a surprise that she didn't even have time to get worked up about it. She just crashed, and felt her arm break, and there was no clear thinking after that because they were fighting]

He said...it's what I deserve.

[even though Zelos has already lectured her on not believing that.]

[wise_maiden]

From his perspective, he just wants people who don't share his beliefs to suffer. That is how he kept the entire world under his thumb for centuries.

He didn't have the right to do it then, and he certainly doesn't have it now.

[corrinesbell]

[oh, she remembers. Mithos is a sly and manipulative little...really old guy. But. She's not well enough to not believe she deserves some of it.]

...Raine? I-I feel kinda...

[wise_maiden]

... Sick? [She lifts up a small bucket from the side of the bed.] Or something else?

[corrinesbell]

[she just nods, quite determined not to actually be sick if she can help it. Not that she's had anything except water. But being sick on top of being exhausted and dehydrated is bad.]

[wise_maiden]

[Raine knows this, but there's not much that can be done for it at the moment. Sheena's condition should be mostly stable, so maybe it's just the feeling of nausea with nothing behind it. She can hope. And if not, the bucket is there.]

Do you need more water?

[corrinesbell]

Maybe in a minute.

[wise_maiden]

... Take your time. [Because time was what was needed.]

[corrinesbell]

[Sheena shuts her eyes and tries not to think about what would happen if she couldn't even keep down a little bit of water. Because it wasn't that much, really, and aside from a few more minor things she wasn't even really injured anymore. It would just be...bad.

But after a while it seems like it really is just a feeling. A reaction to being so drained and under so much stress, perhaps.]

I think I'm okay.

[wise_maiden]

Good. Please don't push yourself.

How many...days, do you think?

[wise_maiden]

Certainly no less than a week.

I thought you might...

[a few breaths, an attempt to keep things stationary. And they work.]

I tried not to fight. [this is something she will fixate on for a little while. She didn't want any of this to happen. Even when she did realize it was fight back or else, she kept trying to knock him out and get away]
