[Sheena got up early this morning to start preparing her backyard to be a legitimate garden this year. It feels wrong and right all at once - wrong because she still wants to believe this isn't permanent, and making a garden feels very permanent, but right because it's something to do and much better than just sitting around waiting for the next problem. With the last draft putting their food supply in danger, it felt like a good idea.

Then the skies opened up. Rain, rain, rain. In her determination to get this done, Sheena chooses to stay outside and finish at least the row she's been working on digging holes for. And she takes a spill in the mud shortly thereafter.

A muddy, wet, ticked-off ninja is speaking to the journal now.]

I don't think spring is supposed to start like this. Does it ever do anything besides rain around here anymore? What kinda garden is this gonna be if everything I try to plant in it just drowns first?

...Does anybody know what gets planted in the spring?

I'm not going back out in that. [motioning to the rain. And what if it turns into a thunderstorm? She'll want something comfortable for when she tries to hide under the sofa]

[He takes a look at his muddy clothes. Then shrugs at her.]

[she heads for the kitchen, stopping halfway there with her back still turned]
