That wasn't me.

I dunno what that was but I promise it wasn't me. I'm really sorry if I said something terrible to any of you.

[And there are some apologies that only work in person. Which is why later in the day she'll be going to house 42 and knocking hesitantly on the door]

[There's a knock on your door, Sheena. Someone's come to visit, despite his own injuries and aching head from trying to reconcile a childhood he never had. Hopefully she won't mind his dinnertime visit.]

[She looks a lot better now than she would have this morning, though still very tired. But there's a smile on her face when she sees who it is.]

Hey. D'you wanna come in?

[He nods and lets her lead him in. Don't mind him if he seems a little slow. He's had a very long few days. He settles down on the edge of the couch there with a soft sigh. He wanted to see how you were doing.]

You look about as tired as I feel. You okay?

[He nods. He's all right. Trying to avoid home for a while until he sorts himself out. Sorts out what happened.]

How's your arm?

[He looks down at it hanging limply in its sling, then shrugs. Honestly, that's been the least of his worries. It doesn't hurt as much thanks to all the healing he's gotten, but at the same time, he's sure he'd ended up injuring it more.]

[His illusion-shadows curl in the air. "I came to see how you were". Meaning he hadn't been terribly keen on talking about himself.]

Oh. [give her a break, she was worried about him. He was a really beat-up (and soooo adorable) little kid.]

I'm okay. ...Feeling kinda weird still, but I think it's getting better.

[Well to be fair, he's a bit tired of being the center of attention. Who knew being small and adorable would do that? Still, he nods. He knows the feeling.]

[After a pause, he withdraws the little silver compact she'd given him. Funnily enough, it was still covered in much smaller fingerprints.]

...You can keep that, if you want. I don't really use those.

[He smiles a little and pops it open. One of the mirrors is broken. Apparently he hadn't been as careful as he said he would be.]

[Sheena actually laughs a little.]

It's not a big deal.

[He thought it wouldn't be. Still, he thought he might show her anyway. On the off chance she would be interested in having it back. He sets it down, still open.]

["How should I thank you?"]

...For what?

[no matter how she looks at it, she didn't really do anything special. Didn't even make the sandwich herself.]

[Another half-smile. "Your kindness". Maybe it didn't seem like anything special to her, but to a hurt little boy, every little thing was special when someone payed attention to his needs and wants. Especially after all the trouble he'd ended up in later. There had to be something good about the whole thing for him to hold on to.]

[Oh, she's definitely blushing a little right now. That personality isn't something she'd ever associate with kindness.]

Y-You don't have to. Really.

[Maybe she didn't see it, but Sheik did. He looks away and nods. All right, he'll leave it be, for now at least.]

You want anything to eat? Colette made fried rice for lunch, there's still some left over.

[An apologetic smile, and a shake of his head. That's all right. He hasn't really been hungry.]

Okay then.

...That picture you drew for me...it was Verius, right?

[He pauses, then nods. That's right. Verius had been quite helpful in subduing Yuber, and was a good companion otherwise.]

Did he...say anything, before they all had to leave?

[Sheik shakes his head. "I do not think he had the chance". Sheik was sad to see him go all the same. They were resting, and when Sheik woke, Verius was simply gone, and the village had fallen quiet.]

I don't remember them leaving...but that's okay.

[He offers her a small smile and rests a hand on her shoulder. It's all right.]
