There's a good chance you'll see Sheena walking around the village backwards today. She can't seem to propel herself forward or turn her head to see where she goes. Expect to be walked into or to watch her trip over commonplace noiseless things like rocks, benches, and the occasional stray barber pole.

After one such incident she takes out her journal and gives it the best ninja glower she can summon.]

Sheesh! What kinda present is this anyway? Can't even get in the door of my own house. When I get my hands on those guys they won't know what-

[The ground is now ice. Whoosh! Sheena skids directly into the fountain, stopping herself somehow before any serious harm is done.]

Oh great! This is just great, can I be dumber yet? I'm too old for this stuff... And tell those stupid trees to shut up about my life! Nobody needs to know that about Jack!

--Ugh! I mean I didn't- [A heavy sigh.] I give up.

[On the 31st she's doing the rooftop-to-rooftop hop because the whole world is suddenly lava land. When there's too wide of a gap between one house and the next, it's all she can do to land on a bench and cling to it, wincing from the heat. How are some of these other people just walking on the stuff?]

[Ayumu isn't suffering from lava - yet - but he is on a roof. The roof of someone else's house to be exact, and wedged into the small sliver of shade that the chimney is making.

There's still the question of how he actually got up there, but the post-kidnap white pants and shirtlessness might explain.]

Oh, no wait. That's Ayumu. Sheena leans down to look at him.]

Up here running from the lava?

You don't see it? It's everywhere down there!

I'm pretty much avoiding the edge of the roof. [Or anywhere but this nice two foot wide bit of shade.]

[She'll be barreling into Logan. Who was standing at the fountain with his back turned. So thanks, Sheena. You just sent him falling into it. Splash.]

Whoa, what the- [She barreled into something really solid and non-bouncy and ow. It hurt. Like a reinforced wall.

Uh, h-hey, what'd I just hit? [By gripping the fountain's edge she can sort of turn toward it enough to look without slipping back onto her butt.]

[Logan was not happy. And by not happy, quite furious. But restrained. But in a coiled snake kind of way. He stood back up, drenched.]

How about you turn around and look.

I can't! When I'm moving it's like my head's stuck looking straight ahead.

[snikting]

Well if that's such a challenge, how about turning around?

[Despite her brain telling her it might be a baby chicken, she really isn't sure what she's looking at.]

I hear the Malnosso are some of the best gift-givers. What a way to celebrate!

[He's being sarcastic, of course. It sounds like she's got it pretty rough, so he sympathizes a little. Quietly.]

[Might as well admit it. It's her fourth birthday in Luceti. Like all the other odd milestones, it's a place she never thought she'd reach.]
