133. Omission

[Out of the tunnels and into the plaza comes one very tired ninja, limping. Anyone lingering in the area will see a very surprised face...at all the snow.]

Whoa. Winter. ...I wasn't gone that long right?

[It's cold and she has no coat to speak of, but as she looks around, she realizes the fountain is about as far as she thinks she can go on her own. Time to sit on its edge, open that journal and see what the heck is going on. ...And let people know she came back. At least it wasn't like she was kidnapped or something.]

Hey! Nobody told me I should've been ready for a blizzard.

I could use a little help though.

[Raine takes a moment to cast a preliminary first aid to at least try to give Sheena some strength for movement and take the edge off of her weariness, before moving over to support her.

The kitten yawns hugely, rolling over and stretching out claws. And then curls back up. No harm done.]

[There's something satisfying about magic from home. Something warmer. It makes Sheena not even consider trying to turn down the help. She's not moving very fast, but despite the limp she seems steady enough.]

[Raine simply helps lead Sheena to her room, because it's closest, guiding her to sit down on the neatly made bed.]

[It's almost automatic to turn enough so her injured leg can be up on the bed with her; the other one inevitably follows.]

This's your room, I don't wanna stay here if it'll keep you out.

We can have that conversation after I've looked you over. [And maybe not even then.]

[That'd be Raine's teacher voice talking. Or maybe her older-sister one. There's no arguing with it, so after untying and unfastening some things, Sheena shrugs herself out of her stealth top layer, revealing the sleeveless black shirt she has on underneath - and all its rips and tears. There are bandages in a few places on both arms, and visible through a slice in the shirt on her left side.]

Careful, I think I've got stitches. [Which might be why she sounds a little nervous.]

[A slight frown tugs at the corner of her lips when she sees the state of the final shirt, and all of the bandages. The limping around was no joke. She found herself wondering how Sheena had been able to maneuver herself to move at all. But of course, there had been Yuan.

Still, it gave more places to start. She nods her head tightly at the warning.] Thanks for the warning. I'll keep it in mind.

[Not all of the visible bandages are serious. A few cover light burns or scratches instead. But it should be pretty easy to tell why she was only gone for a week, here.]

Just tell me if you need me to move or something.

You're set up just fine. [She'll just quietly get started, changing over to the filial magic to get a better sense of the wounds and encourage the healing process to speed up.]

[Her side and left forearm are the worst, and the reason she's been so cautious about moving. That's the attack that ended her last fight, and thankfully, her part in the mission too. The limp actually comes from a lot of strained muscles, but mostly a swollen ankle.

Already tired, once Raine starts in with serious magic, Sheena will be shaking her head to keep herself awake.]

[The magic takes up her concentration, so there's no real time for talking as Raine begins to heal her in earnest, seeking out the more serious wounds to focus on, though the lighter ones aren't ignored when they're encountered. At the very least things should start feeling better; refreshed, restored. At least, that's always her aim with the magic.]

[It does feel better, as always. Once it reaches the point where she actually feels like she can do so, Sheena turns her head to watch Raine at work. There's not a lot to see, but she wants to know if Raine starts to look worried. ...More than she already does, concentrating like that.

Still. It's nice to come back and not have to be afraid you'd bleed to death before someone found you.]

[Raine's expression remains neutral for the most part, as she works. There's a hint of slight frowning when she finds those deeper wounds to focus on. Thankfully they're not as bad as they could be, but there's only so much she can do with her abilities.

At the very least, the surface scrapes and scratches should all be healed over by now. There's nothing she can do for the blood loss, but that's always been a downside to magic.]

[At least Sheena's had about a day to sleep off the blood loss. Once she was patched up to the best of their ability they left her alone for a while. Raine probably won't be able to move too far on the ones with stitches either, but there'll be something.

When she's finished Sheena's eyes will be closed. It's a wonder she's still even sitting up. Though if Raine didn't get to that ankle, that's probably the reason she's not asleep entirely.]

[She gets to the ankle last, spending some time trying to make sure the muscles are refreshed, and then focusing her energy to deal with the sprain itself. It still shouldn't be walked on immediately, so Sheena resting is probably for the best, but at least she'll no longer have to deal with the limp once all is said and done.]

[She doesn't want to interrupt, but something's been on her mind for a while now.]

You've...really had to take care of me a lot lately. Sorry about that.

... That isn't something you have to apologize for.

Yeah it is. If I did a better job of not getting all beat up or doing stupid stuff...this wouldn't keep happening.

Then do a better job. Just don't apologize for circumstances not in your control.

[And she'll go right back to focusing on that sprain. Her voice doesn't sound terse or anything -- she just knows if she says too much about it, she'll be being a hypocrite.]

Yeah...right.

[Because it should be easy not to be clumsy or surprised or...well, less competent of a ninja than she actually is.]

[It'll take a few minutes more before she's anywhere near satisfied that she's done a good job, herself. She'll cast another first aid spell on top of it, but right now, Sheena probably needs the rest more than anything else.]

[when it feels like Raine's done, Sheena turns her ankle a little, looking relieved when it doesn't hurt.]

Thanks. ...You could've done less and forced me to stay in bed, y'know. [with a tired grin] Now I'm gonna argue if you try to make me stay here.

I think you're still far too tired to argue. Get some rest, Sheena.

There's not an extra bed? I don't wanna take up yours.

The other room hasn't been aired out for a while, so I'll take care of that while you rest. Now stop fighting.
