122. Circumstances

[To think it was just a regular day.

Sheena stumbles her way around from the back of house 18. One arm is braced against the outside wall of the house, the other useless. It's a slow, staggering kind of walk. When she runs out of house, she manages to move just a few more feet, into the road, before crashing to the ground again. Mercifully, her journal comes loose from where she had carried it at her waist, and ends up open, pages face down.

It's just out of her reach; her fingertips brush against it but she can't turn it over. Maybe having it open is enough]

I-I...need help. ...Please.

[[ooc: Follows almost immediately after this log, meaning it's Thursday up in here. The log is unfinished so far but we wanted to avoid some insane backdating/the chance that LJ murders itself again. So!]]

[Her broken arm is still in a splint, and there are a lot of things Presea can't see under those blankets.

She also has a stuffed toy there, next to the pillow on her good side.]

...You sure you really wanna know that?

[Oh, Presea most certainly took in the sight of Sheena's arm, and there's certainly a fiery rage burning in her eyes when she speaks again.]

Yes.

[She wants to punish whoever did this.]

[Her gaze is still a little clouded but she's got her focus on Presea all the same]

Promise me...no doing anything that'll get...get you hurt.

[Hm, that's going to be a very difficult promise to keep and Presea knows it. She takes a moment to consider her words, glancing at the many strange medical monitors around the room.]

...I will not unnecessarily endanger myself.

[There's something wrong with the way she said that. ...But Sheena's not processing well or fast enough to figure out what it is. She'll just accept her word, for now, and look away so as not to meet her eyes with this next bit of information]

...It was Mithos.

Mithos? [The one Sheena talked to, and warned, her about? Presea looks a little shocked, for a second, before anger sets in again.]

What was his reason for attacking you to such an extent?

...I dunno all the way. He said...[an unsettled frown] It's what I deserve.

[Oh, that makes her tense a little bit and a frown finally appears on Presea's face. She feels a little guilty for all these questions when Sheena needs to rest and recover, but she just wants to get to the bottom of this.]

...Did you do anything to deserve this treatment? [Because she sure as hell doesn't think so.] Or was this assault unprovoked?

[That's such a loaded question. A tired injured Sheena thinks she deserves a lot of things she probably doesn't, actually.

But this time she's pretty sure of the answer]

I was just...just gardening. He attacked out of nowhere.

[Unprovoked, then. Is this what Sheena was talking about before? About Mithos? To her he seemed like just a young boy, but Presea knew looks could be deceiving. She was a prime example of that, after all. But if he really was that powerful, and that dangerous, then he needed to be stopped. And soon.]

This cannot be permitted to happen again. Something must be done about him immediately.

[her eyes open much wider at that]

No. You'll get hurt.

Others will be injured in Mithos is allowed to engage them. ...I will not go alone, if you are afraid. [Presea doesn't even know where he lives anyway, though she will look into it now.]

Maybe just attacking me was enough for him.

[but it's obvious she knows that isn't remotely true]

...I will speak with the others, if they are unaware. We will formulate a plan of action to take if this kind of violence persists.

[Something has to be done. And as much as she wants to get some personal revenge, even Presea knows that's not going to work. Not in a place like this, and with an enemy she knows little to nothing about.]

Raine...Zelos and Yuan, I think. They were here. ...They know.

...Understood. I will speak to them about this. We will not do anything reckless, Sheena. Please rest until you recover.

[That's an issue. She wasn't doing anything reckless, either. No more dangerous action than digging in the dirt with her guard down.

And that's just shameful.]

You don't...have to leave. I feel okay right now.

[Presea pauses. She had been making toward the exit, but now she moves back toward her friend. It's...still very odd to have someone actually wanting her company, but Sheena was one of her closer friends now.]

All right. Is there, uh...anything I can do for you?

[you can not try to fight Mithos and potentially get hurt]

Yeah. When you do go home, make sure Zelos doesn't burn the house down.

[Presea blinks, and makes a face. Is...that supposed to be a joke? Or was Sheena serious? Presea's not really good and understanding things like that.]

Uh...y-yes, of course.

[tries to smile enough to show she was kidding]

Just having company helps, Presea.

I understand. [And she really does. Even with her slightly antisocial tendencies, Presea knows it's better to be with people. Being alone is something she doesn't want.]

I apologize...for not being the best of company.

Guess we're even. I'm not great company...today either.

[Presea makes a quiet sound, and a soft smile spreads on her face for a moment before it fades. Poor Sheena...it wasn't fair that she was attacked for doing absolutely nothing! It just...wasn't fair at all.]

Does anything...hurt at all?

I feel kinda okay now. Raine was here and she healed a lotta stuff.
