It's way too busy around here today.

[so she's getting out of the house. Going around town - around rooftop, really - and seeing what the heck kind of chaos is going on these days. It feels familiar and yet totally foreign. She figures she's just gotten used to the crazy after all this time.

When she crosses the stable roof, her colossal bad luck kicks in once again and she feels it start to give out beneath her. When it does, her hands actually catch on the rim of the hole. She can see them holding on. But. ...Then of their own accord they seem to let go and she lands on the floor inside the stable. Missing horses and dog, thankfully.]

Damn it! [why yes, the journal did record all of that fall-in business.]

I only came here with one problem, but now there's kinda two.

[It doesn't really seem like the others are home, but it's not like it's a big deal. She gestures for her to make herself comfortable.]

They don't...feel things right. I dunno, it's hard to explain.

You mean, your sense of touch is affected? Or is there just a numbness?

...When you say affected what d'you mean? It's like...I know I'm holding onto stuff and I can see it but I can't always feel it right.

You ever try to hold things when your hands are kinda cold and...well it's like that?

That's what I mean -- are they numb. How long has it been that way? Or is it something that comes and goes?

...Probably since I went home a couple weeks ago. I think it's there all the time but I don't always notice. Like right now, I wouldn't know.

Do you think it could be an effect from the kidnapping? Or... you were in the cold for a while.

I have no idea Raine. That's kinda why I came to ask you.

Let me see your hands. If it's not from the Malnosso... which it may not be, this long after, it could be a complication from frostbite.

[already holding them out so Raine can look at them. They look pretty normal, all things considered. If asked to bend them, they move as though stiff]

Your fingers... may not have healed properly after all. Particularly here, around the joints.

Can you fix it?

I'll see what I can do. I've never actually worked with healing frostbite before. But maybe with Nala's... [She goes quiet, studying Sheena's hands again before gently casting.]

[If she can't, then Sheena could be seriously compromised for the rest of her existence damn those Malnosso. It's all she can do not to make fists at the thought of it]

And that's why I couldn't hang onto the edge of that hole in the roof.

[Whether or not it works remains to be seen. The spirit's magic has been proven to work wonders where other magic couldn't quite reach in some ways. Perhaps it might be enough to stimulate the cells in those poor hands and allow for natural circulation and warmth to flow back through them.

If not... Sheena may as well be compromised.]

[Sheena is holding her breath. A fact she doesn't notice until her hands do start to feel...warmer? Less rigid? And she lets all that air out.]

[Warmer, but there might be some pain too, since the fingers are being forced to experience circulation that they may not have been feeling for a while. The heat, and stimulation... but at least the magic takes care of the rest.]

You need to wear better gloves in winter, Sheena.

[It does hurt. All Raine will know of that is that Sheena's biting her lip. Complaining wouldn't be worth it in this case.]

Proper winter gloves? Every time I see you, you're wearing the ones with your fingers open.

Sometimes I've gotta be able to use my hands.

Sometimes. Or you could stay off of roofs in winter.
