Hey. We've got a lotta new people this month, huh? For anyone who's new, I'm Sheena. I think the guide answers just about every question, but I've been here for a really long time, so if anyone wanted to ask, I'm okay with answering about stuff.

I was thinking about trying out that battle arena thing. Anyone done it already and wanna tell me what it was like? If it's like the coliseum I dunno about trying it.

What would you guys think about having a winter, uh, festival thing like we did a couple years ago?

Hey, are you up for visitors? I know it's gonna get late soon...but hopefully Albert'll forgive me.

[It's not as if she's likely to complain if it's otherwise. But maybe it'll help her zone out a little. Think quietly about all that's passed.]

[oh, she had better complain if it's otherwise. Sheena moves the chair so Raine won't have to move very much at all, and starts carefully brushing]

[There's possibly a lingering citrus scent from that shampoo she's been using. In any case, there are a few sets of tangles to work through, though Raine keeps quiet as the minutes continue to pass as Sheena brushes it out.

Eventually Sheena will hear her give a sharp intake of breath.]

Oh, sorry, did I pull something? [she hadn't felt the brush catch, but you never knew with hair.]

N - no, it's not you.

[instantly focused and serious again]

What is it?

I -- was just caught off guard. I should be used to it by now.

[oh no you shouldn't, Raine. It's so worrying when she says things like that.]

Can you take more medicine?

It might be getting close to that time... I don't want to overdo it.

[Raine knows a good deal more about stuff like that than Sheena does, so she's not going to question it.]

Is there...anything else that'll help, while you wait?

I've been drinking a lot of tea... there might even be some ready.

[she gets up immediately, headed out of the room to get the tea and hoping Albert isn't in the kitchen. She probably wouldn't be able to keep herself from saying something to him now.]

[Raine just waits for Sheena to return, taking the time to breathe slowly.]

[and she returns with tea in the biggest mug she could find. One day she is coming over here and improving house 42's tea selection, too. Hopefully this tea is good enough.

At least there's lemon in it.]

[Raine glances back up when Sheena returns. She feels so vulnerable and she doesn't exactly like it. But there's not much that can be done. Not after... that talk.]

Sure, no problem. [Something on Raine's face stops her from asking if she can hold it herself. Instead, she just offers the mug and the small plate it's sitting on] It's kinda hot.

It usually is. [She takes it slowly, though, setting it down on the nearest flat surface. That chest at the foot of her bed.]

[...Yeah, that did sound pretty stupid. Sheena looks down out of habit, hiding her embarrassment, and sits back down in the chair]

[She didn't say that to make Sheena feel stupid. But she's already scalded herself with tea on more than one occasion - she's just trying to be cautious.]

[oh, no, Sheena's solely responsible for making herself feel stupid right there. She is trying her best not to stare or hover or any of the things she might feel compelled to do. Because it is hard enough to look weak in front of people without them fussing.]

[Raine's not really sure what to do now, aside from slowly attempt a sip at that tea. She's talked so much already... of course, Sheena's welcome to look around her room. It probably wasn't often that the other woman was there to do so. Not that there's very much visible of interest.

Some books on the desk. An ancient looking vase on top of one of the cabinets. Something wrapped up and propped up against the side of the cabinet. And probably oddly enough the absence of an actual staff--though she hadn't had one for almost two months now.]

[The two of them have probably spent most of their time in each other's company either outside or at the clinic. ...That's pretty sad. Sometimes she has an attention twitch, though, so she will look around a little. Another thing she doesn't see is the Unicorn Horn, but Raine is definitely smart enough to keep that safe somewhere.

She's gotten used to Raine just using her hands for magic, too. It's something that seems to happen to everyone here - even Sheena. But the tallish bundle over there is...interesting. Seeing Raine apparently lost in thought, she gets up quietly to investigate it]

[Raine's pretty much in her own world, so she doesn't even notice when Sheena wanders. Not immediately anyway. She knows that she wouldn't leave without saying goodbye, so she's not going to question it either.

If Sheena examines it more, she'll discover that the shape is almost that of a staff. But why would it be covered? That's for her own curiosity to find out.]

[she wouldn't leave with Raine in that state anyway. At least without getting someone else here first.

It's about as tall as any of the staves were. Maybe she's trying to hide it from the others living here? For whatever reason. A smirk works its way across Sheena's face at the thought of Albert finding staves to be clutter. Like too many research notes.

But curiosity is going to win here, and she'll tug experimentally at the wrapping]

[It seems to be wrapped very well-- or rather well enough, as Raine wasn't able to put the wrapping back on as well as she might have under normal circumstances, so it doesn't take more than a few experimental tugs to expose what's underneath, at least partially.

It's certainly a stave. One that feels dark, and heavy, and just doesn't look right.]
