113. Frozen

[this week Sheena is a pirate.

Starting today, she is a pirate who ~~doesn't do anything~~ can hardly go five minutes without seeing something out of the corner of her eye, or turning toward a sound that's just barely there in one ear.

Overall it makes for a jumpy, irritated, out-of-sorts ~~ninja~~ pirate.

Looking to clear her head before night falls and things get worse (the dark is always worse, even without scary experiments), she's wandering the village a bit, including a rooftop or two - maybe yours. And she's carrying her journal.

So it's audible, after she drops it, that she is shouting about someone named Corrine.]

No! Leave him alone! [even when it fades, she doesn't look convinced that it was fake. Whatever it was.]

[It's not a strong yell, but he's raising his voice, hopefully she can hear him.]

[his voice edges out Corrine's for just a second] Zelos?

[...and then she's back to hunting down whoever is hurting her bff.]

[He doesn't sound so sure of that.]

Sheena, calm yourself and listen to my voice. Corrine isn't here. What you're hearing is a mere trick of the mind.

I'm not letting him get hurt again!

[some instinct makes her pick up the journal before she starts running again. She's rather near her own house and Kratos's too, actually]

[Kratos picks up his own journal and walks hurriedly outside. If he has to grab Sheena and drag her back, he will.]

Everyone has been hearing voices from those who aren't with us. I hear Lloyd right now, calling and begging for me to help him. Do you?

What you're hearing is caused by the Malnosso. Corrine is not here.

Lloyd? [and she stops, and listens.]

...Lloyd!

[she hears him now. Yes, Kratos is going to have to grab her.]

[Oh, great.

Kratos tosses the journal aside and runs. He'll find it later, anyway. Once he finds her, he wraps an arm forcefully around her waist to keep her there.]

Stay where you are.

[she will turn without thought to who it might be and try to break his hold.]

Lemme go! I've gotta stop them!
