I... I don't know. It's hard to get a gauge on how they think, since their actions don't have a particular rhyme and reason to it.

...Don't they? Big experiments always last a week, even if the effects on one specific person don't. And they throw some easy stuff at us in between everything dangerous.

Well yes, there's that.

But then are the other things that don't seem to fit in with their general methods... the kidnappings and disappearances. Sometimes there is time enough for a display - a warning, and other times, just nothing.

And sometimes people come back with their books, and sometimes they're left behind. ...And some people have gone more than once, and others, none at all.

But it's way too hard to focus on all the differences.

There are a lot of variables... I wonder if it would be worth looking into all of the disappearances and kidnapping and finding any link, or similarities in them... though that seems as if it would only be time consuming at best, and won't really help us with our current situation.
